If you spend two hours or more in front of a computer screen, you are at risk of suffering from computer vision syndrome (CVS) or a collection of visual symptoms after staring at a computer or other electronic display such as television, mobile phone or tablet PC for several hours without interruption.
CVS symptoms include headache, impaired focus, feels hot and burning eyes, blurred vision, until the pain in the shoulder or neck. The reason is the eyes are forced too hard to see the computer screen so that the eyes of experienced tension (eye strain).
To protect the sense of sight, there are some things we can do.
- Use adequate lighting
- Adjust the lighting on the monitor screen
- Adjust font size and color
Most office space using bright lighting, even too hard for example to direct sunlight. In fact, the brighter the better because it does not mean that excessive light adds strain on the eye.
One simple way to reduce eye strain is to set the brightness (brightness) and contrast on the screen. There is no right or wrong settings, stay tailored to your eye comfort.
Unlike ordinary letters on paper, on the computer screen the letters are composed of dots or pixels. So, to see the letters on the screen, the eyes must continue berakomodasi, resulting in tension.
